Have any of you got the rainbow vacume/air purifier? I am not the best at using a computer and can not find many reviews on this. My brother just bought one because of his kids having lots of allergies and thinks it would be good for my family to but I am having some concerns and trying to find out some information about this. I am thinking because you have to use water in it that it probably carries lots of germs using it as an air purifier. Please if you have any comments they would be greatly appreciative. Our 1 year old has cf her lungs have done well but we fight the sinuses do to lots of allergies and does pulmocort and singular for asthma but lungs are good.

Rainbow vaccums are still out there. I had one about 10 years ago. I got it because the salesman convinced me it would be better for my health. I think it was a waste of $$$. Yes it worked well, but many others for less $$$ also can. The water was a pain in the butt especially with animals or in the spring when a lot of dirt gets tracked in. The container holding the water & all the junk U vacuum up because one big muddy mess that has to be cleaned out because its mud & cant just be shaken out. I cant say I felt a difference in my over all health or the air quality. All I know for sure is I had a vaccum that sucked up great, but was a pain to clean out for the next use. There were many times the container sat waiting for days to be cleaned outside my back door. At the time I never thought about the bacteria relation with the water, but unless its sitting for long periods I wouldnt think it should be a problem! Niw when U say air purifier I am not sure what that means. I remember being told to use mine as an air deoderizer & basically all that meant was putting their specially made smellly stuff into the water so when U use it the odor goes into the air. If the idea is the same there is no way I would call that an air purifier!

I have never used a Rainbow but I have a Hyla.....it was made on the same principal as the Rainbow....I really love it but the water thing is a pain in the hind quarters.....you can use anything in it to make the room smell better as long as it doesnt bubble up.....believe me, you dont want to do that...lol....you can just run it with clean water to purify the air...
