Tyler's culture came back and it said rare pseudomonas and rare staph..what does this mean? We knew he has psuedomonas and he is on Tobi and Cipro...just wondering what the rare means.

Hi. I can't really answer that, but I wanted to let you know a similar thing happened to us. When my son was only a few weeks old, they did his first throat culture. It came back positive for pseudamonas and flavobacterium. They said it was not the typical pseudamonas and not to worry. It went away on it's own. Hopefully, that is a good thing that it is rare for you. Good luck

Okay...thank you both for your quick responses. The first culture w/the pa had a 1 beside it so I was thinking that may be how much of it he has? Then when they did it again that's when it came back and said rare pa and rare staph and didn't have any numbers beside it like it usually does. Hopefully it's the strength and it's not that bad!!
