Referal/Suggestions

I am looking for a Dr. in the TN/MO area, and was wondering if there are any suggestions/reccomendations. Well I actually have a few options after looking on the CF foundation website, but was hoping that someone that frequents this board would either know of or have heard things about the doctors in one or some of the following areas.

St. Louis, MO

Columbia, MO

Nashville, TN

Memphis, TN

Little Rock, AR

I have actually seen the Dr. in Memphis, and I am not impressed at all. He seems to be quite aloof and unopen to questions that I pose. I am uncomfortable with the quality of the treatment as well as the "bedside manner" of the physician. I am to the point now where a 3 hour drive to the Dr. does not seem that bad. As long as I can get some quality care. Anyone else ever had these problems with a Dr.? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Feel free to ask me any questions!

I see Dr.Rosenbluth as well in St.Louis. I live in Illinois and travel about 2 hours to St.Louis. I am very pleased with the care I get at the CF clinic there. Good Luck!

STL would be about a 4 hour drive, but anything is worth the drive. So how aggressive is the Dr. there in STL as far as new treatments, up to date info to patients, etc? Just looking for a Dr. who is not only aggressive w/ treatment, but also in the loop persay.

Well...
Dr.Rosenbluth is the head of the Adult CF clinic at Barnes. Barnes is on the top 10 list of best transplant centers if that helps any. I believe he is very up to date on new meds and new research. They are constantly asking people to participate in research projects. How far away are you from Kansas City, Missouri?

I use a doctor in Memphis, and I love the care that i receive in his office. He always listens to me and answers my questions to the fullest. I saw a doctor before him that would always make me feel weak, sick , and just plain worthless sometimes. The doctor I see now is wonderful - I am healthier than I have ever been. He understands that what works for one person, doesn't work for everyone. The meds I take now are finally just what I need - not what the next person needs. I am wondering which dr. you visted...
