Refrigerate HTS?

Hey all,

So I have a local apothecary mix my 7% HTS. The first few bottles of it I received, were normal, however when I have picked it up the last two times it had a "needs refrigeration" sticker on it. I'm confused if it needs to be in the fridge at all, and if so why? I would prefer not to, as I like to keep a bottle in my bedroom so I can do it while waking up in the morning without leaving my room.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

My HTS just says : store at room temp, avoid excessive heat and portect from freezing.

I've never heard of putting it in the frige before.
hmmm???

It depends on your supplier and how they have compounded it and/or what rules they are following.

I have gotten some 7% that was being compounded at a pharmacy that didn't have to follow FDA guidelines because they were not running it through insurance - now that they can run it through they said they are not compounding themselves anymore because it was too expensive to get the FDA approval so they send out 10% and .09% to be mixed upon use - don't know if that is why they didn't say refrigerate or not but at another time we were getting it compounded from Cigna Tel Drug and they said refrigerate because they had done testing on it and found that bacteria would start to grow - they also determined that it would grow after a period of 30 days as well (even refrigerated) so we had to throw it out if we didn't use it within 30 days.
