Well, the incourage system by respirtech (cf vest) arrived a few days earlier than expected. I've posted some images so you could get a better idea of it's size and design. I'll try it out tonight, and in the morning and update what I think of how it feels and all the little stuff no-one tells you so check this post again around noon tomorrow for a better description. For now heres some quickie pics.

Jade here.

18lbs for the unit alone, weighed it myself. Not exactly portable but not so heavy you can't pack it along on a trip.

I think this is warwicks new one because somewhere on here was a post about it. I got it from respirtech if that helps. I'll find out for sure tonight.

Truthfully I hate the vest in all it's forms. My doc's been trying for years to get me into one but I never caved. Only after I learned that there was a newer, scaled down version, did I agree to try it. The only one I used in the hospital a few years back was a floor sized monster so naturally this one feels much less invasive. I'll let it completly cycle through tonight, make some adjustments, and see how it feels.

The Incourage System shown above is Warwick's new VEST. My son is two and has been wearing it for about 5 months. He has no problems with it for an hour a day. The cost is $12,900. Many of the people working in the company either have CF and use the VEST ir have family members with it. I tend to grill them everytime I talk to them, they're great. Megan

Tried it last night on it's auto setting for 30 mins and again this morning. So far it's far better than the oversized thing I saw in the hospital that time. It's not loud but not exactly quiet.....you'll have to judge noise levels yourself. The hoses don't screw in, they attach with a metal locking type of lever so I don't think the hoses would rattle or vibrate loose for any reason. It has an auto setting which runs for 30 mins and raises/lowers hz levels from 6-15hz every three minutes then lowers back from 15-6hz and repeats that until done. Also the auto settings' pressure starts at 50% but is adjustable from 0-100% during its use. There are two other options as well that are "user customizable" but the only difference I saw was that one ramps through different programmable hz levels and the other doesn't. I Guess it gives the user a choice of letting the machine steadily increase the custom hz level or just setting a steady hz level to stick with. The pressure is always adjustable though, so thats good. The vest itself is fairly comfortable. It's not heavy at all, has three buckles up front which are adjustable, and velcro over the shoulders so everything can be adjusted if necessary. On it's side is where the filter can be replaced and it's a simple pre filter like the one's in air purifiers.....it comes with an extra filter though.
How does it feel is what most people would like to know. I never liked things such as this so I'll never really get used to it but it's small size makes it far less embarassing to use. As far as the percussions go it's so adjustable that I think anyone can find a usable setting on it without feeling "beat up" before it's over. But it is a CF vest so naturally it feels a little invasive at first. Kind of like being attacked by a mental chimpanzee on crack.....LOL come on you know was that funny.
Hope this helps a little and if you've got questions I'll be the guinea pig for a while so ask away.
