Right Upper Quadrant Pain

Hi! We are looking for anyone that has had a similar problem. My 40 year old sister has cf and is hospitalized with severe paint (upper right quadrant). Every time she eats the pain is much worse. To the point that she was hospitalized due to dehydration because the pain was causing her to vomit frequently. They have run gall bladder tests and say it is not that or her liver; but she still had such severe pain that they are using morphine and have her on an IV for fluids. We would appreciate any assistance as the doctors seem to be at their WITS end also. She thinks that they feel it is all in her mind! THANKS!!! Hi, My name is Debbie, I'm a 22 year old CFer. I'm sorry to hear that your sister's pain has hospitalized her. I know it's not in her head. Have they done a CT scan of her chest? There could be some bacteria-caused damage, and that doesn't show up on an x-ray. The problem could also be her esophogus, I don't know if she's in the habit of taking antacids daily, but I know that our stomach acid is usually very potent, and this could be causing some problems in the lining. Give my best wishes to your sister.
