Erm no! Lovely. Shame the bloody houses are in the picture 2, couldn't you have cut those out. No seriously, it is a lovely view, I'm just being sarcastic cos people have been winding me up in work. Had a bad work day if you know what I mean?

Well, Dyza...Can't beat that photo, don't think I can match it, but I'll attach a photo of when the wife and me went "Cherry Blossom Viewing" near one of Osaka's "Bigger" Rivers...

BTW, I like the rooftops added in the photo, wish they weren't cut off! The houses add "location" to the photo! The river looks pretty big, too!

I guess you could say it is a big river, its getting towards the estuary here, and there are a number of sea lochs that are branching off, Gare loch is where the Trident Nuclear subs and Faslane Naval base, thats right in the middle on the other side of Greenock and Port Glasgow. The Holy loch is almost in the picture, thats where the US navy had its submarine base for many years.

That big expanse of water you see was filled with the Allied navy fleet during the WW2. Greenock and other towns on the R Clyde were bombed by the Germans during the war, Because of the extensive shipbuiling on the river. Bewteen Greenock and Port Glasgow, there was once 7 miles of ship yards. Now there is only one yard remaining.

Nowadays cruise liners use Greenock as a port of call, last year 17 liners used the port. The funny thing about this is that Greenock was the main port of departure for the new world many many years ago, so if any of you out there with Scottish or Nothern European roots, well your forefathers may well of passed along from my view.

History lesson over for the day...LOL
