Does anybody have any scandi-shakes they would like to get rid of? My 25 yr old son is on Disability and they won't cover the cost. He needs them bad as he is just not gaining any weight. We just can't afford to buy these. Any ideas anybody? We already know about the deal when you get the Ultrase you get free shakes.... only problem there is Ultrase is now off the market. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Thanks for any help.

Sorry I can't help you with the scandishakes (I'm in the UK) but can I suggest making a homemade version (can be as many if not more calories!)?

A blend of his fave ice cream, milk, cream, and stuff like cookies/peanut butter/banana/even oil can all go in to a machine or blended with a stickblender and it's delicious and quite cheap. More natural, too.

I like a mix of chocolate ice cream, choc milk, and peanut butter. (100g ice cream, 300ml choc milk, and 2 tbs peanut butter = 725 calories in 400 ml!)

You can go to www.oley.org. You need to go to the Equipment Exchange for nutritional drinks. You will just need to cover the postage.

Would your son consider a feeding tube? I was 29 when I got my feeding tube and I gained 15 pounds in 3-4 months and another 5 pounds 2 months later.

It was SUCH a relief to not have to focus all day on trying to eat 3000 calories, especially because I never felt like eating and nothing tasted good - and I couldn't breathe when I ate.

It was a hard decision, but it was the best decision I've made in a long time to take the stress away!!!!
