Self Employed and Insurance?

Hi, my husband is hoping to become self employed this year. I am a SAHM so our insurance is through his current employer. He has been exploring insurance possibilities but it looks like our daughter would either be denied or the cost would be VERY high. So far, I believe Anthem is the only company he has been told would deny her. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this?

Thanks!

Hello. I don't really know much about insurance, but this might be helpful. Is your child currently covered on your husband's insurance? I was under the impression that an insurance company could not deny you for a pre-existing condition as long as you give them a letter of coverage (I believe that is what it is called) from your previous insurance company. That may not be correct, but that is what I think the law is. It may also be different since he would be self-employed; not sure if it would work the same. Just a thought. Hope that helps a little.
