Since Monday I've been so freakin sick. I ran a fever all day and night monday, tuesday, and part of the day wednesday. i don't know what it was because i didn't bother checking my temp, but i know i was running one. i feel a little better today. anyways, i go to the doc tomorrow, but i called her monday and she just put me on levaquin AGAIN!
Anyways, i've been having a really hard time coughing stuff up. i've never had a problem doing that before. i can tell the stuff is there. i have been coughing so much though, that my back, chest, and stomach hurt to even move. well finally today i started feeling a little better and i'm coughing stuff up better, but lo and behold, this morning the first thing i cough up is streaked with blood. it's not too much blood, but a lot more than normal for me. well i coughed up blood streaked mucus about 3 or 4 more times, then it just turned into light red tinted mucus, which was only while i was doing my vest.
i don't understand why she doesn't want to put me in the hospital. it kinda scares me. i don't want to be really sick in a few years and know that if i would have done IVs that i probably wouldn't be so bad off. my family likes that i've never been in the hospital because they think it means i'm really healthy, but i think it could be my downfall. i guess i'm just venting.

Remember it is your body, you are in control. Tell her the Levo isn't working and you want to try something else. If you don't do hospital do IVs at home. I sleep better at home then in the hospital, but at the same time if hospital is what it takes then by all means tell them that is what you will do. Try to drink a lot of water, in case you might be dry. Also see if you have had your sputum cultured for Aspergillus, sometimes can cause bleeding. I Have been known to clear up the PA only to open my lungs up for the Aspergillus to grow and take over.

I wish you well, and remember to stand up for yourself, it is your life - your body.

Sometimes its tough to stand your ground especially as a young adult, but you need to.

You know your body & you are justified to worry.

Sara, If you are concerned with what is going on, you probably have a good reason for it, Our insincts usually right... Like Sarah said , drink lots of water if you are not already.. As far as the vest and nebs go, if you are actively bleeding, sometimes docs hold things back till it is under control.. Please let us know the outcome... <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0"> joni
