Sinus Flare Ups and Sushi

Anyone see a positive effect from eating sushi/wasabi during a sinus flare up?

I had some this morning and as anyone might know who's had wasabi/soy sauce mix, is that it clears your sinus immediately. Just thought I'd mention this for anyone else to try and see if it's a quick, temporary fix for you too.

I need to try and remember this next time my sinuses start acting up. Maybe have some sushi with wasabi, then do a sinus rinse with warm salt water. Nice.

Wasabi is just one method of clearing the sinuses!
Spicy Curry is one, the hot mustard used in Chinese cooking is another (sometimes the white pepper they use will give you a rush, too!), but anything that causes your sinuses to "sweat" is one method to clear them out!
They say in Japan that one way in preventing a cold is eating something like Curry Rice.
Eating the ginger that goes with the sushi is also good for you, esp. in the winter time, it supposedly warms the body up (thats what the wife told me).

Yah, I'm sure those curries will do the same. I've known how these things 'clear you up', but today I felt it having a real purpose. One when you're having a flare up, it might really help out.

Thanks Fred for the other tips. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Here's a weird story! When I first got my oximeter and I was fresh out of the hospital, I wore it and checked my O2 often. We went to a chinese food restaraunt and I was casually wearing it during the meal. I was a little OCD about it and concerned about my O2 levels. I was sitting at about 94 or 95, not sure which. I ate some sushi with wasabi and it spiked up to 98 for a few minutes then dropped back down. Now that's some powerful stuff. You know it must have some anti-inflamatory properties.
