Sippy Cups

Has anyone found any sippy cups that are good for your CFer? I swear I've tried every kind. . . The ones that Parker loves still seem to have milk in the sipper after going through the dishwasher (I can see it because he drinks choc milk sometimes). I got the ones with straws, thinking that would get all the gunk out, but then saw that you're not supposed to wash them in the dishwasher.

I think I'm going to try the ones that non-CF DS uses, but I think they might be a bit advanced for him.

Just thought I would ask the germ-experts <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I never really found a good sippy cup to use with milk -- most of the time I used cups with lids and disposable straws. And of the regular sippy, I removed the valves, so those were easier to clean.

I do like the insulated sippy - munchkin with rubber straw. You can take the straws apart. I only used one ONCE for milk and it was a mess to clean. I read an article early on about how children drinking juice can lead to obesity, so I kept a cup in the fridge with white grape juice for afternoon snack time <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I liked the Nuby brand with the soft, clear, silicone nipple type. It only has the ring, nipple part and cup. Very easy to clean, even in the dishwasher.

These are nice if your child doesn't chew the soft lid apart (like both of my kids eventually did!):
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.amazon.com/Gripper-Cup-Soft-Silicone-Spout/dp/B0001NE9F8
">http://www.amazon.com/Gripper-...e-Spout/dp/B0001NE9F8
</a>
We mainly use the Nuby sippies with the hard spout (from Walmart), they clean well in our dishwasher, we put the valve in a basket and I have never seen nor smelled milk after a wash.

And I really like these, but they do allow a slight spill:

</a>
We use regular straws for these then throw them away at the end of the day. Much easier than dishwashing a straw and waiting for it to thoroughly dry!

Hope this helps!
