Heard about new 1x per day or less frequent inhaled (nebulized)
antibiotic under development. Orphan drug status in U.S. and
Europe.

yes, links would be interesting. I'm confused as to what is new. Amikacin inhaled and IV are used for mycobacteria bugs so I'm not sure what is new about it. Curious. I would imagine it would be pretty extreme to treat PA.

Here's a link to the company. The news release is from March. CFF.org also lists it on the therapies pipeline.

So I guess I'm confused...how exactly does this differ from the inhaled Amikacin I already take (2x day)? Is it just a variation of the existing Amikacin? It's all Greek to me <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I have to admit, though, I love the thought of new packaging that didn't require a needle to draw out the liquid.
