I'm tired of cold season already and it's just begun. maggie is doing a round of anti's for a lingering cough/cold that went through her nursery school, she was even on prednisone for it for a couple days. Now , her good little friend(two peas in a pod) whom she was with at nursery school woke last night with a high fever/runny nose. ARG. Maggie's been taking it easy past couple days extra treatments rest lots fluids plus the anti, if she gets hit with another virus, I don't know how she'll handle it. Her cough seems to finally be somewhat under control. I know I can't keep her in a bubble but how do you all do it? You can purell , wash hands all ya want but get a couple 3 and 4 year old together and they will find a way to share germs. Plus again, Maggie is miss social butterfly so she needs her buddies. Cf sucks. I hope Maggie doesn't get this next bug. i'm already worrying.

I try and tell myself this is normal child development stuff going through tons of colds from 2-5 years old. By kindergarten age it is markedly different. My first got sick I swear ever 3-4 weeks in preschool. Now hardly ever (she is 6 now). There is actually research that shows with the abruption of permanent teeth, the immune system actually strengthens. Interesting.

Now Ben is hitting that 2-5 year stage and he has had back to back, mild colds this season already. I just try not to freak out and remember this is what build immunity for later. I do get a shiver up my spine when I hear someone hacking up a storm this time of year. It just feels different with our Cf child. Hope it passes as time goes on...it has gotten better since he was a baby (I was much more nervous). We do the purelle after stores and library time, we try to ask friends to keep kids home if they have colds, and then the rest is up to the universe. We like Goji juice for a little extra immune support and extra vitamin C is a good thing too.
