So we went to soccer practice on Saturday and it sure did look like one of Ethan's teammates was sick and of course I cringed when I saw this.
Well today, Ethan is all stuffed up and Caleb's nose is running now too.
They could very well not have gotten sick from this soccer kid, but also it is a possibility.
How do you deal with this social stuff????
I wrote the soccer coach and asked that he send out an e-mail asking parents not to bring their sick kids to practice as one of the players has some health issues. My husband and I kind of feel like people should be on a need to know basis, concerning our kids diagnosis, as we don't want them treated differently.
HELP!!!!!
Blessings,
Missa

I know that this is a difficult thing. We have a 8 year old and we basically just tell him if someone is coughing or seems to be sick try to kind of keep his distance. I know at this time of year a lot of the "sickness" is actually allergies.

At our soccer practice the boys aren't really in that close of contact. I would maybe sure and even bring hand sanitizer to practice and not share water bottles. I know in the league that we are in parent's would send their kids to practice b/c they do pay a hefty price each season for them to play. My oldest son actually had strep throat on Monday and had soccer Tuesday and didn't go b/c he wanted to make sure not to spread it to anyone else. I would hope that most if not all parents would be smart enough to not send their kids if they are truely sick. Good luck

DS is in gymnastics and I notice parents bringing coughing, boogery kids. The first thing I do when DS is finished is wipe off his face and hands with an antibacterial wipe. Seems to help. 'Course I cringe when I watch him down on the floor stopping to pick his nose. Bleah!

We seem to have more issues with relatives who KNOW about DS's cf. The other night my niece showed up at the inlaws hacking, barking and sniffling -- claiming it was "just a cold". Grr!
