spontaneous mutations thread?????

Its about spontaneous mutations. I have never heard of it until now.

For the cfers that are having children or will be having children, would you still have children knowing this could happen?
If you already knew about this, is it something that you considered or is it too rare to even consider?
This knowledge has left me a little weary about having a child.

Yes, I've heard of this before. I've also heard of uniparental something or another (steve has addressed it before) where the child gets two mutations from ONE parent. Very strange, pretty rare but YES it does occur.

Yes I knew about this when we started our IVF process but for us, there are so many "what if's" for anything that you do in life that if we never just took an "educated" chance (educated in this case because I know the specifics behind the situation), none of us would have a life to live.
