Jennifer, Please don't hire a lawyer first, PLEASE let me help you with your first application and appeal. They charge 25% of your back pay.

As for the initial poster....this is a question I haven't run across before and I honestly don't know the answer to, but I HAVE submitted an email to SSA and I'll get back to you with their answer. I do believe if it's federal they deduct that from your benefits (or vice versa) but it sounds like you are talking about a private disability ins. Is that correct? It's a private disability ins benefit?
