Well I am still getting my fevers chills and sweats. I went to my family Dr. They did bloodwork. White cell count is normal, hemaglobin is a little low, everything else is ok. They did some more bloodwork last night and 2 cultures. I called my CF DR this week, and they didn't call back, so I called again today. JUst yesterday I started getting a little feeling of sinus infection and a raspy voice, from coughing at night from dripping mucous. I see my CF DR on wednesday. Any thoughts on what I have? When I feel hot my temp is around 102, when I am cold it goes down to 97.4. Any ideas? I know I need to talk to the DR but just wondering if anyone else experienced this. If I take either ibuprofen or tylenol every 4 hrs it keeps the fever down, and I can function otherwise I feel half $---ty.

Heres the other thing, I am on tobi inhalled, bactrim ds, zithromax, for the antiinflammitory factor they say it provides, and I am almost doene a week of cipro. Woulda thought one of them woulda fixed me by now huh? My last sputum culture showed that I was pretty succeptible (sp) to drugs, some po some iv.

Yeah...could very well be a virus. I was sick really badly last week. I was on Zithro and Colistin with an army of vitamins and still got sick. It went straight to my chest and I had fevers and night sweats (still have the night sweats). I started tobi, because unfortunately with a virus there's not much you can do except ride it out and try to protect your lungs from a pseudo flare-up (it strikes when your body is weak). I know they have virus meds (tamiflu) and such, but I never take those so I don't know if they help. Anways, take care of yourself-up the vitamins (expecially vit C) , extra therapy.

Definitely sounds like a virus. YOu might be able to control some of the sweats if you try to prevent the fever from getting high then taking something to lower it. Keeping the fever at bay would be easier on your body.

Kevin,

Do you happen to go to Presby for your care? I recall you saying you live in Philly when I posted about you and I having the same mutations. Well I also live in Philly. I see Dr. Holsclaw. You definitely have to stay on them...keep calling and if you are awaiting a call back from MF I would suggest leaving a message for your doctor to call you back. I've had good luck with this approach. Look at me here giving you advice...you've probably gone to this clinic for years and have your own ways of handling them. Oh well just thought I'd mention it.

Stay on it - - you don't want it to turn into something more serious. If you are anything like me you don't often run fevers or have night sweats. Good luck and keep us posted.
