Stool question

Hi there,

I have never really understood what a "bulky" stool is myself, but you will know a greasy stool when you see one....Do you know what a kitchen sink looks like after spaghetti dishes have been done? You will see a film in the toilet that resembles that. Gross, I know, but the best way I have to describe it.

Bulky stool. I've seen so many but how do I describe it? When Cale has a bulky stool, it has the orange oil absorbed in the diaper, and the stool is chunky and you can 'see' what he ate. He would poop out macaroni noodles, beans, potatoes all in chunks. Like most of it didn't break down in the digestive process and it is mixed with the parts that did break down. Think potato salad with the mayo holding it all together. Don't know if that helps, especially right before supper. Sorry.

Ok, I think I get the picture on greasy stools, lol. Most of my sons stools are loose...lately. for about a month or so. that is what got me searching the internet. I did do a small experiment when he had more of a solid one. I dumped it into the toilet to see if it floated. It sunk. So that is a good thing right? I read that a malabsorbtion problem would cause poop to float....just wondering if anyone knows?? thanks so much for the advice <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

The poop would float if there is too much fat in it which would be there since the body is malabsorbing the fat. Oil floats on water, right? So poop that has too much fat will float
