I was wondering ifd anyone might be able to help since my doctor doesn't seem to know whats going on, and even more doesn't really seem to care.

I have been having these wierd symptoms for a while that won't go away no matter what I try. Usually around 6pm I start feeling like I am getting the flu. I get a fever, body aches and especially the chills. Even when I give myself tylonol it doesn't seem to work. Once I go to bed for the night and wake up the next morning I feel better but these symptoms usually screw my entire night making it impossible to get anything done.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or what to know what to do? I told my doctor but he just kind of shrugged and said... yeah that will happen. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

GERD maybe? Aspiration of gastric juice at night can cause your body to do flu like things such as fever, night sweats, etc.

Push for a test to see if you are aspirating at night.

Take care

Are you saying you feel completely fine all day? And that at 6pm until the next morning you are sick?

How long has this been going on? What are you doing prior to 6pm? Does it happen every single day like clockwork?

My doctor was recently talking about delayed reaction alleries. That is why some people make no connection between an exposure and an illness. An exposure can take anywhere up to 48 hours for a reaction. In fact when they do allergy testing, if there is no reaction, they recheck the skin tests after 5 hours.

I would pinpoint when these symptoms started happening -- a week ago? Months ago? Any changes in your environment, or food? Next I would examine everything that happens to you prior to getting the symptoms? Look at soap, perfume, food, your car, cleaning supplies, bedding, anything that you are wearing including jewelry...

The answer IS there somewhere. Have you had a blood workup including things like thyroid function(complete thyroid tests not just the usual 1 test)...there are so many things it could be...but I would check it out with another doctor if your's can't help you.

Are you feeling sick otherwise? Recently, I was on IV's and would have low grade fevers at night and feel the way you are describing you do. Then, when I went off IV's, it got worse with higher fevers up 103 (I had been admitted to the hospital at this point). The dr's were puzzled and were running every test under the sun. It turned out that I just had an infection that was resistant to one of the two meds I had been on.
