Strep throat and now cough developed

Earlier this week, my dd came down with strep throat. She has been on antibiotics for 5 days now and has been feeling better but just developed a cough which she didn't have before. It isn't a constant cough but sounds junkie when she does. Her culture 3 weeks ago showed sensitive staph again (which we have only treated when there was a flare up). Is it common for the staph to flare up after an illness like this? Or could it just be a coincidence?
I do plan on calling clinic in the a.m. but thought I would ask some of the best old pros I know!

I think anytime you are sick, the mucous can increase and that can increase the numbers of staph in the system. I'm also wondering what they put her on for strep and how long she was on it? Antibiotics for the strep could have made room for the staph to actually grow if it wasn't something they were sensitive to or if she wasn't on it long enough.

Isn't CF fun? I think its a good idea to call if the cough lasts more than a couple of days.

Her pediatrician put her on Keflex which is not the usual CF antibiotic. She has been on it for 5 days now and while her Strep symptoms have gotten better, the cough developed on day 5. I will definitely be contacting her CF center.
Thanks for your input Heather!
