No, I do not want to stop treatment. You must be thinking of someone else. I just wish they could come up with something that works for more than a week!!

My nephew started culturing Cepacia when he was 9 years old. He turned 17 on Saturday<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

It has been difficult at times to keep the Cepacia under control. He is on IVs about e/o month or so and even though the Cepacia cultures read that it is not resistant to anything, the doctors just keep changing the 'cocktail' of meds. They usually find something that gets it under control, until next time.

I think the emotional part of culturing the Cepacia has been very hard on him, possibly more so than the physical aspects, probably b/c he started culturing it at such a young age.

I hope the doctors try to find just the right mix to help get things under control for you. I know how challenging it can be. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't think it sounds at all like you just sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. Having to drop out of college and no longer being able to work are both things that would have anyone feeling a little less than positive about their situation.

I wish I had some advice or suggestions for dealing with the cepacia - I don't. I just wanted you to know that feeling a little down about things is pretty normal and, if at all possible, you shouldn't make yourself feel even worse by thinking you should be all happy-go-lucky in spite of all these huge changes going on in your life.

sometimes things $uck - it's okay to be a little angry about it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
