sudden weight gain

I just wonder if anyone has dealt with a sudden weight gain in CF. I know that gaining is the goal but my eight year old daughter has gained almost 15lbs since the begining of Sept. To me that seems like a lot of weight to gain in a short period of time. Does anyone know if this might relate to diabetes?

I gained 50 lbs in a year once. I was actually overweight. But I was on Depo Provera (birth control shot) and anti-depressants, and that's what did it.

sometimes an overactive, or underactive thyroid can cause weight loss or weight gain (can't remember which is which) Just to rule it out, you might request your doctor check her thyroid (TSH/T4 test) during her next set of labs or sooner if you feel it is necessary.

i gained like 20lbs in 2 months or something....from steriods, so if theyre on something like that then it could be that....otherwise it can also just be the age....either way just be sure to mention it to your doctor
