Sugar Influences

I have a few ?? for anyone who has had experiences.

For the ladies.....does the time around your period influence your sugars in either direction?

For everyone....do you have major sugar highs/lows no matter what you eat or is it more so how often you eat? Have you gone without eating and not crashing to eating something then crashing?

I will have more ??, but this is it for now.

Mel,

Hi dear! Hope your feeling good today. I had to make an clinic visit (for me) today...not the way I wanted to spend my Sunday. I ran my little toe into Zoe's Dora bed post (metal), knew I was in pain, but tried to keep walking, then looked down at it to see it sticking out sideways!! Ooohhhh, I cried. Anyways, they numbed it, set it back and taped it. Yeah. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">

Just wanted to say that Zoe has had her sugars done a couple of times, and they do seem to fluctuate. Sometimes they are real high, then normal. I wonder how many cf'ers might have this happen to them...I've read before from other people on here about fluctuating sugar levels. Hmmmmm.....

Have a good day, take care of yourself!

Love,

I don't know about my period affecting my sugars yet, but I am suspicious- I was just thinking about this this morning- funny you should bring it up!

I am monitoring my sugars in anticipation of my OGTT. They go up and down. I have had days when I have skipped lunch (not in the last couple of years, though) and no problems- I've had days when I've eaten a decent lunch, and had my blood sugar crash (about 1 or 2 times a year for many years).

For example, after dinner on Friday- 170. Saturday morning-102. 6pm on Sat. (2 hrs after watermelon)-105. After dinner, 186. This morning, 136 (and had the same before bed snack both Fri. and Sat. nights). 3 1/2 hrs later, 97.

And yes, it really doesn't seem to depend on what I eat sometimes...but I am just starting to chart my blood sugars, so I will have to see...
