I have been feeling kind of overwhelmed lately. I just started back to work part time subbing at school. I love the break that my mind has there. Like my focus switches to only what I'm doing there rather than all the things I have going on at home....

That being said, my daughter just cultured pseudamonas, which means tobi and increase in treatments. Also, my husband will be out of town for over 2 weeks for work. So I have a lot going on and have Bern brainstorming ways to make this work for me without losing my mind and especially without having to stop subbing.

What kinds of things do you guys do to help alleviate some of e responsibilities?
My mom has offered to do my kids laundry. Which is a great help. Any other ideas/suggestions??????????

Thanks!

Hi--If you think it would be alright to introduce another person (and all of their germs) into your home, a good way to find extra help is through a local college or university. Especially by asking students who are in a child-friendly major---human dev and family studies; education; special education; social work, nursing etc. My suggestion would be to call the departmental secretary and ask for the name and president of any student organizations in that department as well as contact information. Some schools will have this information on their website.

As a professor of education, I get requests emailed to me as well. If a person sends a flyer to be hung up on a bulletin board, I will do that for people. But that is more hit and miss.

Just a suggestion............

I work full time and last week DH was out of town for the week and my inlaws were gone, so I know the feeling. Other than DS' laundry, which I do separately due to teeny tiny little socks possibly getting lost, I pretty much let the laundry pile up. Bare bones cleaning.

I do a lot of errands and boiling nebs, washing dishes over my noon hour. This time the only thing that drove me nuts was that DS woke up early and one morning I didn't get a chance to shower or wash my hair. Fortunately it was Saturday, so I didn't have to worry about running into anyone I knew.

I catch up on my email while DS does treatments using my laptop and woreless connection. I also set the alarm about 15 minutes earler when DH is gone to allow for a little extra time. One night instead of making supper, we went out to Ihop for scary pancakes.

I figure I can let a few things slide around the house and play catch up. I was a little stressed with homework and a few other minor things.
