My son just turned 5 and now he is 40 inches and 35 pounds. He has always been in the 5th percentile......(he was just diagnosed with CF on 11/23/06) Since then, he has been in the hospital twice. He just got out on 1/27/07. During this recent hospitalization, the GI doctor came in and said.......The only juices my son is allowed to have now are Resource BREEZE by Boost or Carnation Instant breakfast juice.
I have been loking, and having the hardest time finding these products in stores. Carnation sent me a list of local stores........They did not even know what I was talking about!
Anyone know where to get these products at a fair price??
Thanks, Doreen

We are not a fan of these supplemental drinks and use our own homemade versions when needed. You can avoid the corn syrup, sugars, and artificial stuff and provide nutrient dense drinks with healty fiber, fat and protein for weight gain or maintenence. I am happy to share some of our recipes. Our son is 2 1/2 and in the 70%.

I also feel being aware of inflammation in the gut plays a large role in weight. Probiotics support the gut flora, keeps inflammation down, and helps in the digestion of nutrients. We use one daily along with a few other things to help keep his digestive tract in prime condition. He probably has the healthiest digestive tract in our entire family ;-) LOL

Just some ideas...best wishes to you and your little one.
