Support for Well Siblings

If you live near San Francisco and some of your kids have CF and others don't there is a wonderful center for the non-CF kids called the Sibling Center ( see http://www.cpmc.org/services/sibcnt.html ) that offers support to well siblings.

I don't know if there's anything like this anywhere else.

they have posters up on the wall in childrens wards in the uk all about siblings and trying to make the whole family understand that it affects everyone when one of your children are in hospital. it's good idea !!!

And it's not just when the ill child is in the hospital that there are special considerations for the well sibling who is oft described as "the forgotten child" as in this paper http://www.cpmc.org/profession.../theforgottenchild.pdf .

Thank you for this link. I often worry about my daughter (no cf) and the affects it will have on her. Even at 6, I can see characteristics that may be due to her brother having CF. Although he's doing well now, I fear about her emotional well being if he's hospitalized. They are EXTREMELY close and there are so many things that scare me.

Anyway, thank you again!
