Finally... we have a date.. it is this Friday at 10:30am. Unfortunately the results will take 7-10 days because here in Ontario we just started testing for CF at birth, so they is a delay. But I am sooo happy it is scheduled!

Can anyone tell me some details about this test.. my daughter is 15 months old... I am assuming she won't like it after everything she has been through over the past 2 months.

Sweat tests aren't bad.....Think you may even be able to find a video on YouTube. We had results next day...docs actually had it same day. They clean spot on arm and put these electrodes on to stimulate sweat gland....my boys said it doesn't hurt. Just weird feeling... then after like 15 minutes... take them off...put these watch looking things on.... .....they're velcro.....with little ones they usually wrap it up so little fingers dont get it loose..... that draws up the sweat.....for 45 minutes...and that's it. No pain.....

If that's the same kind you're getting... That's what my boys had. Good luck and keep us posted.

Yes, both my girls had the same procedure Carrie describes, plus the wrapped arms. My doctor at the time wanted them to take samples from both arms at the same time. Still, even with both arms wrapped, it was not at all traumatic. My youngest was about the same age as yours at the time.

We just chatted and joked through the procedure, and the girls just took their cue from me. Since I was calm and a bit silly, and there was no pain or discomfort, it was an utterly unmemorable moment for both. Of course, at the time, I was sure we were just "eliminating" the possibility... sigh.

I know the wait will be awful, but at least you are closer to getting an answer.
