TB Testing

Jada was questioning whyI had my yearly TB testing during my last checkup on Tuesday. She was wondering if its recommended that all CF patients get it etc.

I told her that I didnt know, but that I have ALWAYS gotten annual testing. I said maybe certain areas that are higher in TB exposure due to drugs or prison population makes a dfference, but I wasnt sure.

SO we are putting this out to all of you!

Does your clinic do TB testing? IF so is it annual? What state do you live in? Do you know if its state required somehow or just a precaution?

I have a yearly TB because I work in a hospital. I've never been asked to get one done at my CF clinic.

I was under the impression that some, if not all, cystics showed a resistance to TB. Maybe its a research thing that they are doing?
Dont know if Craig is tested over here.

They do it here at Phoenix CHildren's Hospital. WE have yet to do it for our boys though...We just ignore the request everytime we get it. I figure if you come up positive for TB they do an x-ray to confirm the diagnosis. Since the boys get x-rays annually, then hopefully they would see it in their lungs if is there. I am not getting my kids poked more than I have to.
Please correct me if my thinking is wrong..
