Thank God for cancer!

Amy, come on. Not everyone IN the military supports the supposed purpose of us being over there. I joined AFTER the war started, a lot for the wrong reasons, but at the time, I belived in the cause. I NO longer do and quietly refuse to deploy for that reason. I think we were lied to, I think we were tricked and I think we need to ALL get out of there.

I too have lost friends over there, ones that I know personally that I can count on one hand. But when I hear people say things that Jessi said here, I understand.

Glad to hear Jessi. When are you coming to the base? Come visit some day for lunch!!

That's great news and that is coming from someone who supports the war. I would not want my husband or child over there. People may say it is only a war about revenge and oil, and to them I say, OK, maybe it is, but it is necessary. Sadam was a very evil man and I am glad he is gone and the oil in the middle east is necessary if the human race wants to continue. People may think we can live without it, but we can't until we come up with an alternative, which we are not making great progress with. When American's are paying 10-20 dollars a gallon of gas tell me how your going to get to your job where it costs u more to drive there than u make that day and how u are going to get to the hospitals and afford your meds that their prices are going to go up 100xs becasue of the cost it takes to transport them.

So, good for your family. Yeah for cancer for once

Not wanting her husband to be shipped off is normal. My nephew has had his share of experiences during his tours in Iraq and he would never think badly of me if I told him that I am grateful my husband or son didnt have to go. IF ANYTHING....he would understand. BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POST.....yes it is a benefit in this case. I am glad something positive came out of it.

I am still somewhat on a high from this! Its not the he'll NEVER deploy, but I have him for at least another year right here with me.

Julie, one of these days when I have a day off, and I'm not sick or having a tooth pulled I'll come have lunch with you!! Seems like I've always got some appointment or other on my day off.

This post was not meant to be a war debate, but I believe there was a misunderstanding that I want to clear up. I said I support our TROOPS, I didn't say I support the war, and I don't. That's all I'll say.
