Well, I called the clinic yesterday to get Jake's results. He also happended to be off from work yesterday, which was why I wasn't around.

Thankfully, they came back NORMAL. He does have high cholesterol, though, and the fertility specialist wants him to see his family doctor. Actually, his cholesterol increased by nearly 100 points since February.

So it looks like there are two components: PCOS and abnormal cervical mucus. We all know from prior posts that my CM is ABNORMAL. It never gets beyond watery, and even that is a miracle to say the least. Then, there is the greenish-tinted component...

The PCOS seems to be left-sided, which is the ovary with the cyst from time to time. The right ovary only had 5 follicles and is ovulating this month. My bloodwork was fine.

I am holding my breath. I ovulated either yesterday or today and made sure to "baby dance". I'm hoping that the HSG test (tube test) was enough to open the tubes and basically clear out a majority of the mucus that I have down there. There is a good chance this month, naturally.

Jake was off yesterday, Wednesday, so we were able to "baby dance" Tuesday night and Wednesday. Timing was perfect. Also, my basal temp has risen .3 today.

Our "review" is August 29th. It is at this appointment that we will know if IUI is an option. I hope it is. I can't afford IVF. We don't have a rich family or enough in the bank, moreso with the house possibly closing in a few weeks...

Any thoughts from those who have been through the same hoops? What do you think my options are??? <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

Editted to Add: My tubes were normal from the HSG. However, it still can dislodge mucus. Women have a 40% increase of conceiving the same month as the test for this reason!

glad the SA was normal.

If you go to IUI, I suggest a medicated IUI to increase your chances of conception - that way maybe you'll only need one cycle! I got pregnant with both my IUIs, so it can happen! Just remember, of course, the risk of multiples does increase and you'll want to discuss that - though the risk of more than twins is still quite low.

I had a friend with PCOS that did medicated IUI (she used Femara/Letrozole, not Clomid) and now she has twins! She does not have CF though.

I went through IVF. It is expensive. For me, the money part was the most stressful part. We spent $15K on our cycle and thank god it worked because we had none to freeze. We didn't want to go into debt for it, that was very important for me, so we ended up selling a bunch of stock (that was ear marked for retirement). But in the end, I'm glad we did it. For us, it was the right choice. In the end you have to do what is right for your family.

I think the chances you will be offered the option to do medicated IUI is very very high. (we did IUI 3 times before IVF, after my endo surgery) I do not have PCOS though. Hang in there. Good luck this month. I'll be interested in your charts 10-12 days from now!!! Gosh, doesn't the 2ww suck? It used to drive me batty, so I've been there, Jenny. You have us here to vent to if you need to! :) oh, and I'm really happy the SA came back normal. That's really good news.
