Thanks you for answering my questions about the test. I have a few other questions about symptoms that I would like to ask. My son has not been diagnosed, if anyone feels comfortable answering or sharing info I would appreciate it. I understand that you may also prefer to speak to those who know that this is what they are actually dealing with. Thanks for the replys I have already gotten. I slept better last night knowing that he would not have to be in more pain with another test.

Westy, I am glad you are feeling more comfortable with the sweat test. The worst part will be waiting for the results and that stress will not be felt by your son. I hope that the test is negative, but if not please remember that you are not alone. Symptoms really vary from person to person. The primary, of course, are respiratory and digestive. My daughter also has problems with sinus infections, ear infections and reflux. She has not had any respiratory problems and she is 3 1/2. Just take it day by day and see what comes along, but first find out what you are really dealing with. Don't get too far ahead of yourself.I imagine the waiting must be difficult. When is the sweat test scheduled for?AM

Thanks for the reply. We are scheduling the test for hopefully next week. I have just had surgery myself so we had to wait. I am trying to not get to stressed out, but from the symptoms I have read he appears to have almost all. He has had 2 sets of ear tubes, adenoidectomy and nasal passage reconstruction already and none have really helped. We have had a little relief with the new ear tubes, but not much. His recent ct scan of the sinuses showed no open passages at this point. He is completly blocked and the infection appears to be moving toward the bone. Thank you for the support during this time. I am glad to hear that your child has not had respiratory problems. Do you find that antibiotics seem to help with infections? My son does not respond very well to them anymore. He has had every kind on the market suitable for his age. One more question, have you ever tried chiroprctic care for the sinus issues?

Generally they will perscribe different antibiotics when CF is the factor, so if your son does have CF they will try ones a child wouldn't normailly be given. Also, CF treatment is a combination of therapies. It can be very hit and miss and they are alwys learning new things. Treatment is very individualized. No two patients are alike. It is imparative that you see a CF specialist for his care if his test is positive. You can find them by going to the CF Foundation website. I've always had to drive at least an hour and a half to my appointments, but it is worth it. Debbie22 yr old w/ CF

Hi, I do find that antibiotics work but like someone else said, it is a hit and miss situation. You may find one works one time and then again the next. It sounds like you have been through a lot and I can understand how hard it is. My daughter is 3 and has sinus, and ear infections and reflux. I am also glad that her respiratory problems have not surfaced yet, but it is a progressive disease and I am not blind to that. I can say that her chest x-rays are better now than they have ever been. For sinuses I can tell you that a saline solution has worked very well for us, and also seems to decrease the amount of ear infections if I get the sinus infection under control fast enough.Good luck with the test, and I hope you recover from your surgery. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, and this can be a hectic time of the year for the best of us. If you want to talk some more you can reach me at heatherrock70@hotmail.comAM
