The smell of Mucomyst....

Forget using Mucomyst. My son Aidan, 2 and a half, was horrified by the smell and threw it down almost throwing up. We've tried a few times and will have to stop. Because he has done nebs so well since one week old, I hate to turn him off to it by this smell. It is pretty bad and to inhale it through the mouth and nose for 15 minutes a day is not working for him.

So I really want to try the oral NAC. I know there have been so many discusions about it but I am still confused. Pills? Where do I get them? How much would I give a 37 pounder? Thanks. I am bummed about Mucomyst...Maybe as he gets older and understands more. Thanks

you can actually use the mucomyst and drink it with a little coke, or juice. that's how I do mine. as far as dosing you'd have to check.

tablet NAC in the US is not regulated - the FDA does not regulate supplements. Therefore the bottle that you buy may say NAC 600mg per tab, but there's no guarentee that the bottle contains any NAC at all, or 600mg per tabe. could be 1200mg per tab and the next tab you take could be 200mg.

i get my NAC from Europe. Chris drinks Mucomyst. There are ways ....

As I do IVs since months I take it "directly" in my veins, but I don´t notice any difference with or without it...

Thanks. I'll ask the doc about mixing the 2ML in juice-maybe Aidan won't notice.
