Well, we just found out that Ethan Sky's vest should be cycling for it to have the best effect. We have had it for 6 months now and it has been at 12 hz.
What are the cycles you use????

Blessings,
Missa

We've always done 14, 12 and 10, at the highest pressure, but I recall reading here Dr. Warwick's suggested settings switch it up even more.

We set it on 1/11 for 5 min, 2/12 for 5 min, 3/13 for 5 min and then either do 3/13 again or 4/14 (depending on if he has a cough or not) He had some problems on 4/14 when he was a little younger, would just start whining and waking up (he usually falls asleep with his vest)

We use the Respirtech vest and prefer the quick start setting which is a bell curve from 6 up to 15 and then back down to 6 within a 5 min. period with a 60% pressure then we cough and repeat for a total of 30 min. twice a day. He is assymptomatic only know of his cf because of extensive testing due to my cf. Once I can get feedback from him (he's 16 months old) I will program using Warwick's advice. I use Warwicks suggestion and what works for me (since I have cf too) is 5 min. setting of the following; (hzressure) 6:8, 8:7, 9:7, 13:6, 18:5, & 19:5.

I'm glad to hear your center is getting with the program. Vests are nearly useless if not used correctly. He should be practicing expulsion of the mucus (best to huff cough) since the Vest only rattles it around...maybe even deeper in the lungs Has anyone from the co where your Vest is from every fitted him for a Vest? Most are wearing the incorrect size too. If your ins. has changed since you got your Vest you could call Respirtech for a new one and they come out and fit you. You could ask your resp. tech to show you how to correctly use the vest involving clearance or go to another clinic that offers this sort of support for a consult. St. Vins in NYC I hear has really good Vest use training.
