The vest

Our CF nurse just told us that respritech (I think) has a vest called incourage and has been approved for 6 months old. Has anyone ever used a vest at this age? It seems a little young, but I'm very excited about this possibility. I'm goiong to do a little more research but was wondering at what age did your child start the vest? Our little one will be 6 months next week and we are thinking about it.

Both our girls use the vest. Our 4 year old has 'the Vest' by HilRom and our one year old has the Incourage system by Respirtech. We got the vest for Isabella when she was 10 months old. We love it! So my opinion is get it as soon as you can!

I didn't know about the "incourage" vest, but both of my children started at two years old b/c we were told they had to be a certain size. I always though that it could've been started sooner, but what do I know?? lol

my son is getting his at 10 months. honestly he probably could have gotten it sooner because his ribcage measures 20 and it only needs to measure 19" to work with the Incourage. He is asymptomatic with no hospitalizations so I don't know if insurance will go for it. In fact, we might just run it through insurance as if it was for me (Ihave cf too) and then just prescribe the jacket for him which they would approve due to the low cost.
