The vest

Hello all. On Christmas eve, we received the vest for our 2yo dd. Truly a wonderful Christmas present. She had first used it when in the hospital right before Thanksgiving and had done so well with it, we got the ball rolling to get it for her at home. So far, she has been such a champ and does very well with it. She even ASKS to go "shake-shake" (too cute!) Just over the past week, she did start complaining of her stomach bothering her while doing the vest. She pulls up the bottom edge of the vest and says "owwwie". Because of this, I got her to lay down more and it has helped a little but she really prefers to sit up and watch her cartoons. Does anyone else have a little one with this problem?
Thanks!!

Could part of the vest be digging into her? Max uses the Smart Vest & there is a metal plate where the hose attaches near his waist. I usually end up holding my hand between that plate & his tummy during his treatment to keep it from pressing into him tummy. When I complained to the company, they sent a dense sponge to use as a buffer, but Max is very picky and won't let me use it (you could use a wash cloth, etc). I also wonder if it could be nausea? I try not to do the vest with Max just after eating or drinking. Good luck, hopefully you'll get it figured out. So glad to hear that she's so cooperative with the vest!

I often get stomach discomfort from the vest after I've eaten. If she has eaten recently, it really compresses the stomach and it's very uncomfortable. Maybe that could be it? Just try to make sure she doesn't eat right before vesting.

My son is 3 years old and has used the vest since age 2. Recently he has started dong exactly what your daughter does. I adjust the rate and frequency until he tells me it is better. Debated with myself whether to do that or not. But since I want the CPT experience to be a good one, on those occasions I make the adjustment.
