Hi there,
We are home!! Thank goodness!!! On the road to recovery!
Love,
Sarah
*We were in the hospital because Johnny had scar tissue from his meconium illieus surgery he had as a baby that had came loose and wrapped around his intestines and caused a blockage..Acted like a rubber band and trapped a bunch of gas...but still poop was coming through...Very scarey, because I had no idea this could happen. They were able to remove the scar tissue WITHOUT cutting his intestines. We had surgery last friday. We spent the other days recovering in the hosptal. He was refusing to pee or poop. But we got him walking and peeing with allot of coaching!! Now that we are home things are REALLY moving! Our surgeon said we could resume his vesting this morning? Johnny cried badly and I let him stop his VEST. Any of you start up so soon with the vest after surgery? Today it's only been a week. Think I'm going to need therapy after having to carry him once again to the same PRE OP room that all this started in. I really never thought we be back in the same halls again doing the same walk. I thought for sure our 1st hospital stay would be for his lungs. Never saw this coming! All the purrell in the world couldn't stope this! He is one tough little boy!
*Lungs are still awesome. No bugs and at 100% lung function. Thank goodness! Praying we didn't pick up any bugs! Went through two hospital size purrel machines. Lot's of bedding. Lot's of lysol wipes! Lot's of face masks. Thanks for all the tips I have read on how to make the hospital not so scarey! Bringing our own pillows/blankets really helped<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
*I left our 18 month old with her grandma. When I went to pick her up yesterday after her being away from me for 7 nights she treated me like a stranger for 10 minutes. She didn't run up and hug me. She hid from me and grabbed Grandmas leg. Talk about rejection! We decided to leave her there because it be too hard on her going back and fourth. We said if it went over a week we bring her home and have Grandma come in the mornings to our home. Glad this was all over in a week, and we are home together. I hope I can get past that look on her face when she saw me. She looked soooo confused, once she was back at home things returned to normal. Ahhhh my heart hurts!
Thanks everyone, Please forgive my typing errors...I'm sooo tired!
