Things that make you nuts

Just wondering if anyone else feels this way..Certain things people say just irritate me..I've learned to let ALOT go. One thing that drives me nuts is when my daughter has a cough(like now) and family will hear it and say"ooh that sounds bad, or is she Ok?, or that's not her normal cough"

My nerves get frayed when Maggie is sick, I call it "high alert" Don't need family chiming in when I am the one dealing with all this stuff day in day out...Just really isn't helpful to hear.

Any other??

Ditto! My MIL does this about DS' breathing -- snuffling while he sleeps. She tends to panic. He gets a stuffier nose during Tobi time and when he was a baby.

Or how 'bout the relative you only see during holidays who asks how your child is doing only to use that as a way to tell some horrible story about someone they know or heard about wcf. Ugh!

I just had my "it's cold and flu season" feeling of dread. Awful feeling in the pit of my stomach and the waiting for the other shoe to drop...According to the news last night lots of stuff going around the area -- stomach bug that lasts a week, strep, flu, bronchitis... Doesn't help that someone always shows up sick to Thanksgiving.

I've got one.....I had a friend tell me she just met someone who knows someone who has CF and is 40 years old. She then said, "I didn't know they could get that old. This is great news."

Yup, you're right, now that you've met a 40 year old CF patient, CF is no longer a terrible horrible scary disease that kills daily. I'll fix my knowledge of CF based on your experience. Thanks.

Arghhhhhhhhh.... yeah, I share Heather's pet peeve. I could type out quite the rant about that one (actually I did, and deleted it, because that's not what this thread is about. ) But rest assured, that makes me very, very nuts, though I can't quite claim it's hard for me to explain, lol.

People worrying about my child isn't as bad as the 'but she looks sooooooo good!!!!!!' thing, but yeah, people who hover and tend to panic drive me nuts. We become informed and cannot afford, for our own sanity, to panic over everything- we are in this for the long haul and learn to manage things that most people don't.

Ha, what I feel like saying and what I do say are 2 different things. When someone comments on her cough and asks"is she ok"(and I am feeling edgy) what I really feel like doing is screaming on the top of my lungs OF COURSE SHE IS NOT OK, SHE HAS CYSTIC FIBROSIS!!!...But I don't of course psychotically yell that; instead i say don't worry "I've got in under control"
