thinking about a trip...

hey,

my boyfriend and i are planning a week-long vacation. we have narrowed it down to either costa rica or seattle. i have never been to the pacific northwest US and have heard so many good things about seattle. the trip would be in september or october though, and i'm not sure if that is the rainy season there? my boyfriend has been to costa rica before, and he would love to go back. i have also heard good things about it.

so my questions are: have you been there? which would you recommend? any thoughts about how it would be with CF traveling costa rica?

I have always wanted to go to Costa Rica! We actually considered it for a honeymoon, but we were getting married in September, and apparently that is the rainy season there. I spoke with a couple travel agents about it, and they said that even though it rains almost every day in September and October, it comes and goes, so you're not stuck inside for the whole day. We ended up going to Barbados instead, which was amazing, but I've been thinking about Costa Rica ever since.

Seattle, and the entire state of Washington, is just beautiful, but I've been a New Englander the past 12 years, so I can't remember when the Seattle rainy season is. There are actually a few people on the boards that live there, so hopefully they'll see this and respond.

That time of year, I would say go to Costa Rica!!!

I'm from Seattle (living here now actually) and July/august and beginning of September are really nice. There are a lot of fun things to do here, bite of seattle, the seattle center, take a dinner cruise one night, we have fun waterparks and amusement parks, in the fall there is the Puyallup fair which is always a blast and many other fun things to do and keep you busy.

But September/October is when it starts to get colder, windy, rainy. Not too much of a vacation really if you are here to sight see, spend time outside and such.
