i'll make this brief, just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas. i got a cold over a week ago. i felt really awful for a few days, then i got a little better. i now have some of my energy and apetite back, but have been having whole body ache feelings, a lot of fatigue, possible temperature fluctuation, and my chest feels weird -- tight -- i guess.

do colds normally last this long? i'm frustrated with feeling like this... could something else be going on??

Hi Laura, I'm not a doctor, but i do think that colds can last a long time.. I think even if your almost over it, you can get worse again before its completely gone... Do you have allergies? I thought i had a cold a few weeks ago (the cold seemed to be coming and going) it turned out to be allergies...Not so sure about body aches, fatigue and possible fever...Have you talked w/ your drs. , maybe you should go have it checked out, if you havnt already... Hope you feel well soon ! God Bless... Joni 55 y/o f w/cf

When you started feeling better was there a change in the weather? I would bet its allergies. My hubby swore he was getting sick. Guarnteed me he had a cold, but I swore it was allergies & when the rain went away that he would feel better. He did. OF course we cant guarantee its allergies, but IMHO it sure sounds like it. My body goes through a lot of flu like symptoms when my allergies are at their worst!

I would check with your doctor. When a cold does me that way (which is most of the time<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">), it means it has started a flare up, and I start a round of oral or inhaled antibiotics. Hope you're feeling better soon!

i have had a cold that is just finally leaving my body completely (i hope) for the past 13 days. when i asked my doc about antibiotics (my boogies were not clear and that really worried me), she said they don't worry unless its been 14 days of unclear boogies. Mine are clear again so I'm not worried. Give your body another day or two to fight it off.

I always seem to think I'm over a cold and then wake up one day and its back. My parents (no CF) have this happen all the time. It usually takes my dad 2-3 weeks to recouperate from a bad cold and it just moves around his body that whole time effecting different things every couple of days (nose, throat, cough, etc.)... I think its normal.

I would say if you get lots of chest congestion, though you may want to check with your doc.

Hope you feel better soon!!!
