Maybe this does not apply to everyone, as CF is a tough disease and can strike at anytime. However, for me it is pretty manageable, and I feel like I have really gotten more control over it since I have become more proactive with it. Since I became a "member" of this website last year...
*my PFTs have improved 5%
*I started taking pulmozyme every day, instead of sporadically
*I got rid of my car and started biking everywhere, increasing my physical fitness
*I finally learned how to get ADEKs mailed to me
*I have become more assertive with my doctor
*I have become less afraid in general
One thing that really helps is logging into this site and troubleshooting things and "checking in" with myself and others....do you think that internet medicine and e-patients will improve lifespans for people w. CF and other conditions?
