What meds did you take during your pregnancy? I am currently on advair. albuterol and creon. With my son, I stopped all my meds except the creon, and was fine. this time, 7 years later, I have been using less of my inhalers but I can feel the difference whereas 7 years ago I felt fine without them....my doc says they are fine (but of course he would), but I am nervous about cleft palates and stuff like that....so I 'd like reassurance from thsoe who took meds and still had nice healhty babies! Then maybe I will go puff away.

I took all of my meds during both pregnancies, I am on prilosec, albuterol, creon, serevent. I even took tobi every other month. The first month my docs just did a blood level after about a week on it. I did IVs in the 32 week and the 38 week. The only thing I have noticed with both of my girls is the both have constipation problems but other wise the are healthy and normal.

I stayed on all my meds. I was in the hospital on IVs twice and the only real thing that I usually use that couldn't now was Tobramyacin through IV due to it causing hearing loss in fetus'. I was on Advair, Albuterol, Pulmozyme, Nexium, Enzymes continuously. At the end I had to take a lot of pain medication as well for complications that occurred. I was very nervous about this. My daughter was very resilient thank goodnes. I was vented while pregnant with many meds going in me to stabalize me and keep me out. They monitored her the whole time but did awesome. We were very blessed throughout it all. Cambree is truly one of the most healthy children. All of my nephews and nieces have gotten all sorts of sicknesses this winter and Cambree has seemed to get through with few complications. An earache here and there. Nothing major at all. Good luck. I hope that all goes well. Just know that you have to take care of your needs first and keep your body healthy for your baby to grow.

As a CFer who plans to have kids, it is great to hear that most of you used the majority of ur regular meds during pregnancy with adverse affects.

I too stayed on my albuterol, advair etc. I was hospitalized once during the end of my 1st pregnancy for IV's. Everything worked out fine! I have 2 beautiful, healthy children!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I used all my meds & used oral antibiotics during my pregnancy. I dont remember what the oral antibiotics were, but I know they werent my usual because they would not penetrate the placenta. I also ended up in the hospital for ivs before delivery & couldnt have my tobra. Again I dont remember what I had. I also have epilepsy & took my meds for that with extra folic acid to counteract the affects on the baby. My little girl was perfectly healthy. Just tiny because I delivered 4 weeks early as a precaution to me due to my history of hemoptysis.

Hi Wander -

When I was pregnant (age 22-23) we didn't know I had CF (long boring story). I was in a fairly healthy state at the time, in fact was the healthiest I can ever remember being - anybody else experience this? I was on Bactrim DS off and on throughout the pregnancy and another oral antibiotic which I can't for the life of me remember the name of, both of which could have harmed my son in utero (such as being born without arms, legs) but thankfully it all turned out just fine. Just my two cents worth!

I was very healthy during my pregnancy. I had gestational diabetes. I took my enzymes ans used my inhaler as needed. I had issues with constipation. All went very well.
My daughter is 4 1/2.

I just turned 22 and I have CF. I've had it since I was 3 mths old. I have a beautiful little girl who is now 17 mths. I had taken everything I was suppose to. My pregnancy was very hard because I only weighted 84 lbs. when I got pregnant. In the end I weighted 107 lbs. and I had her 2 weeks early because I chose to be induced. She weighted 5lbs. 11 oz. and she is doing awesome now. Her father was tested to see if he was a carrier and he's not so we're lucky!!

I stopped all oral prophylactic antibiotics while pregnant due to the risk of birth defects, but stayed on inhaled meds such as albuterol. I was pregnant before Pulmozyme and Tobi were around so didn't have to worry about them! I did require a course of IVs when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant without any ill effects. My baby, now almost 16, was born fine-- healthy and happy. Good luck to you with your pregnancy.
