Hi there

I am currently doing a month on Tobi following month Colomycin. When i am on my month of colomycin i feel really crap, my chest feels tighter and i cough more.

Im going to stop takin my colomycin and just do no nebs next month, (much to my boyfriends distress)

Just wondering if anyone else does this, or is there an alternative neb i can do that month? or backup Orals?

Hope you are all well. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I didn't care for Coly. I stopped taking it quite a few years ago. I only do Tobi every other month. I am alawys on Pulmozyme and Hypertonic Saline. I thought about trying Coly again just to see if I like it now. I just think that sometimes some of these meds don't work for everyone. It couldn't hurt to try skipping it and see if your quality of life improves and if you culture anything. Good luck!

I have been doing coly for several years and still haven't become resistant and I've heard it is a hard one to become resistant too. I admit that after I do a treatment I feel a little tighter for a little while but when I first started it, my PFT's went up and has helped prolong my need for a lung transplant. So it's been wonderful for me but, it is true that some things work for some people and not for others. Best of luck!

After a treatment of coly, I usually end up having chest tightness and slight problems with wheezing. I hate the drug but the results speak for themselves. (At least in my case) I'll curse the treatment and I'll dread the 10 minutes that follow the completion of the aerosol but overall, it's worth the slight aggravations.
