just wondered if anyone had had to deal with getting TOBI out of the carpet. i have a nice splatter spot on my tan carpet and it is quite discolored--it turned the carpet darker than its natural color. i tried regular carpet cleaner but it didn't really work. any ideas? is this permanent??

I never had this problem. I will go to some of Ann Landers ideas even tho they werent usually for meds. Definitely try club soda....not seltzer. If that doesnt work vinigar (pure white vinigar). Be sure not to rub. Dab it until damp....dont saturate it. YOu dont want it running into more of the carpet. Let sit a few minutes then dab it dry. You might need to repeat this. It works on red wine, but with the chemical makeup of meds I dont know if it will definitely work.

DON'T SPILL MEDS ON THE CARPET!!! lol, that's my advice.

I know we used this to get out some med that Ry had spilled on the rug, nbut I can't remember which med it was. Try it anyhow? Mix ammonia and water 50-50 in a spray bottle with a few drops of liquid soap. Spray it on the stain, and only let it sit there for about 10 seconds before using a wet dry vac to suck it up so it doesn't just go deeper into the carpet. Repeat this until the stain is gone, then vaccum the area until totally dry. Tis is the only tip I found that got that med out of the rug, I hope it works for you!!

When doing my treatments I always did them in a specific area (computer area).
Well when changing around the room (tan colored carpets) we discovered that the whole area was significantly more discolored than the rest of the room.
My grandmother cut a section out and took it to a carpet store and in the mean time tried everything to get the stuff out of the carpet.
Nothing worked.
Carpet store said nothing they tried worked either.
Moral of the story: Carpet was replaced a year ago.

Good luck to you though.
Quite honestly with mine it could have been anything from xopenex, tobi, pulmozyme, albuterol, to colistin discoloring it. If you do find something that works kudos to you.

*edited to say*
we'd also tried steam cleaning the carpets, didn't work, the carpeting people suggested doing plugs to the carpeting (taking little sections out and replacing them with clean sections of carpeting) but since this was from treatments it was pretty much all over the computer area.
After you've taken care of the problem see about getting some of those office mats to lay down in the area... like that you can roll office chairs on.. Probably prevent a lot of that from happening.

good idea about getting a mat, candice. i will definitly put that on my list. especially since i mostly sit at/around my computer area that should help a lot.

man, i have always splashed the remainder of albuterol or pulmozyme on the rug and nothing like this ever happened. (slack, i know.) so i know it is for sure from tobi. silly me. i hope my landlord isn't too mad. :S
