Hi everyone, I started my Cayston 28 day treatment yest. it takes less than a minute? does this sound right? That thumbs up sign comes up like in 40 seconds?

It takes anywhere between 2 and 3 minutes. 40 seconds seems a bit fast to me, as if you're only nebulizing about 1/2 the medicine.

A problem I noticed with the vials is that if I wasn't careful, sometimes the medicine would get stuck (like behind an air bubble) inside the vial and only come out partially or not at all. I had to tip the vial slowly so that it didn't happen (opposed to just flipping it upside down quickly).

Obviously if you're getting all the medicine in there and it's still taking 40 seconds, then you might just have a really efficient head! But I bet not all the medicine came out of the vial.

Thank you so much for writing me I am sitting here waiting for someoen to reply LOL I never thought of that I kinda just dump the small vial and did not ck it it all came out? I did just flip the vial all 3x today. Thanks again Pat/55-CF

I'm not on Cayston, but I can't imagine only 40 seconds being correct. Like Leah said, make sure you get all of it in. See what it does next treatment and if it's still a problem I'd say call the clinic and ask them, that just seems really odd

the first couple doses i did were really fast--like what you're talking about. after that it took a little bit longer but never more than a couple minutes. probably as the head started to clog a little it slowed down. it was slowest at the end of the month and took about 2.5 minutes

I've had the air bubble issue as well. Usually I will tap the bottom of the vial to be sure all the med has poured out. I find that mine usually take 2-3 minutes to neb and on occasion I need to redo it as not all the med was gone. I suspect it is a clogged head. I also have found that trying to use the neb setup more than 1 month will tend to slow down the delivery as well. Again, probably the clogged head issue. I wash the neb in warm soapy water after each treatment but only sterilize at night after the last one is done.

thank you all, I actually had my husband sit with a timer and time me this afternoon, and it was 1 min.46 seconds, so that seems more reasonable. I guess with my first day yest. It seemed to fast and when I started counting I was probably off. but I got nervous. I think as time progresses I will probably make it to 2 mins as well. I wash it in the soapy water as well and then sterlized at night. I am waiting for my Control III to arrive which I will then use that in place of the sterlizer. Pat/55-CF
