Transplants

Last year I read an article in the paper about an organ farm in korea which reckons in 10yrs time it will be able to grow organs in pigs for transplants with no chance of rejection or need for anti-rejection drugs at all. Does anyone have more information on this or know where i can get some? cheers

I read an article about this just last week... I did a quick search and couldn't find the exact one but here's another one that's similar to it though not as descriptive in details as the one I read... I'll look for the other one later when I have time. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7631877/

This has a lot to do with stem cell research!!! (Support stem cell research!!!) Basically they take your DNA minus CF, stick it in some stem cells and grow up a new organ! Since they use your DNA there is no chance of rejection. They can already do this with simple organs like bladders. Things like hearts, lungs and livers are a lot more complicated so it will take more time to perfect.
