On the note of the vest, I know airline companies have let us carry it on, inside a box because it is a medical item, and they don't count it as one of our carry on's either. I think that a cruise might be the same sort of thing. We have a newer vest so the whole thing weighs 10 maybe 15 lbs. But true, if you have one of the older one's it can be a pain in the rear. Also, you might want to consider how much time manual chest PT takes and the vest and factor that in, is it going to be harder to get a 10 year old to do 1hour of chest PT twice a day on "their vacation" or would a 10-15 minute vest use be more appealing? I kind of agree with LindseyRose and Luke, but then the more I think about it, the more I think maybe you should present the two scenarios to your child, let them make the decision (vest or no vest and manual PT) and then make them stick with what they choos (no skipping manual Chest PT because they want to play). But then again, it all depends on how big your vest is and how much you are lugging around.
