Hello everyone! I just found this site. My husband And I have been off bc for over a year and we had the "if it happens it happens" attitude but now we are really wanting to have a baby and I was wondering if anyone had any luck with using mucinex?(have not tried yet) and when should I use it? I have reg periods and I know when I O. I have talked to a specialist and they told me to just track O and all that good stuff, but they did'nt seem like I should have a problem. it may just take a while. I'm in pretty good health I excercise and my fev is mid-upper 70s and I have not been on iv's in a year and a half! I feel great! I'm going to my cf doc on 1/3 and was going to talk to them about it, but would love any info would be really helpful thank you.

I took mucinex (along with other things) to help TTC. I would start taking it 5 days before you O and continue to take it until you know for sure you did ovulate. Tracking your ovulation is very helpful. I tracked using Fertility friend (charting my basal body temp along with other fertility signs). You can get cheap ovulation prediction tests online (also cheap pregnancy tests) to help you further.
Good luck <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thank you Caroline. I don't really want to go on any rx drugs if I don't have to. I'm going to try this and see if it works. I will keep ya posted.

yes I took xtra strength mucinex every day of my cycle and charted my cycles too, along with ovulation kits. With my first, I got pregnant the 2nd month of ttc. With my 2nd, it took a year.

OH I almost forgot - Get yourself some preseed!! It is expensive but you only need it when you are fertile. It is the ONLY lubricant that is sperm safe as it mimics fertile cervical fluid. Look it up. I ordered it online. I got pregnant twice in 3 months (I had a miscarriage) using the preseed, mucinex, etc.

And WELCOME to the boards <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Just wanted to update everyone. I talked to my Dr's on monday and they are confident that I would be able to do well during a pregnancy<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> my pft's have been every stable over the past few years and I have not been hospitalized in over a year and a half, not been on any Pred since I've been married<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> They just felt it may take us a little longer for me to concive but other than that all is well<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
So we are trying the mucinex and pre-seed and see what happens<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
