Tummy Pain

HI, My daughter is almost 4 and recently we took her off prevacid to see if she could tolerate it. Within 2 days she started malabsorbing but I wasn't sure if it was a gastro or not and waited a few days, and now I am sure it was malabsorption. Yesterday we put her back on the prevacid but I have a question. She is complaining of pains in her side which the cf team said was normal when malabsorbing. I know it will take a few days for the meds to take affect but will it help if I give her Motrin, Tylenols or something for the stomach pains? I know I shouldn't hesitate to call the cf team but I hate to bother them for a simple question. I just gave her some Motrin but I'm not sure if it will help or not.If you've had experience with this please let me know what I should do, just until the Prevacid kicks in.Heather

Have her eat a few tums when she eats and before she goes to bed. They will reduce her stomach acid enough so her enzymens can work properly. If she is in pain, you can try some children's tylenol, (motrin might up set the stomach more).Debbie 23 w/ CF
