Ugh, another head cold

Last week it was a stomach bug, then a famous vomiting episode over the weekend and on Monday, the runny nose started.

Been having DS do nasal rinses, but last night his nose was gushing, complete with snot bubbles. Bleah! His nose rarely runs -- think he was 2 1/2 before I ever saw it do so, 'cuz his nose boogies are so thick. Last night at gymnastics he looked so wiped and crabby looking.

So this morning he stayed home with my MIL to get some rest. Hopefully this will clear up soon.

I know this sounds totally silly....I realize he's going to get normal every day bugs, but part of me worries that I've been too confident, that some higher power stepping in to remind me and to take me down a notch. Okay, everything's NOT about me, but I'm forever worrying about the other shoe dropping, that this might be the start of that slippery slope healthwise.

I think when you are the parent of a child diagnosed with something like CF, you are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. And since sometimes some of the signs are so subtle we are like hawks watching and waiting.

I'm sorry Max is sick. Alyssa is too. Coughing up a storm right now. Its so much more bothersome than my non-CF son who has the same exact cough. I hope Max gets better soon -- and it doesn't kick in an exacerbation or the need for more meds.

I hope Max feels better, soon. Funny thing is my son's cough without CF sounds so much worse than Maggie's cough and she's the one on the hard core anti's. That's CF for you!! So the antibiotics make her tummy upset; My lovely husband taught Maggie the "pull my finger trick" Maggie keeps running around telling me or Sammy to pull her finger and then she either farts or burps....Just trying to make you smile

Thanks Max does the same thing, except he'll either aim his butt at me or lean his butt up against me to fart on me.

I'm more grossed out by the snot bubbles, so he's been tormenting me with those. One of the ironies about this disease is that I can handle just about anything considered disgusting healthwise -- vomit, blood, poop doesn't really phase me, but mucus (Loogies, boogers...) makes my stomach heave. Even cartoons like Jimmy Neutron or Billy & Mandy make give me the creeps.
